Transactor 6 is on a different PC to your Lab Manager 7 PC |
Top Previous Next |
If you have Transactor 6 currently on a different PC to your Lab Manager (Transactor 7), and the Lab Manager 7 PC is not 64-bit
(Click here to determine if your Windows PC is 64-bit or 32-bit)
If you do not have Lab Manager installed on a 64-bit Windows PC (ie. it is 32-bit) you can easily import from any available standard Transactor 6 backup file, or download the full T6 export utility
This is easy to do but if you had some special settings on your old system (like your own logos.. ) these won't be transferred automatically you'll need to contact support to copy those over for you later on.
This is preferable as it will copy extra settings from your Transactor 6 that the normal backup file does not contain. However, there is some extra work involved.
I have a normal Transactor 6 backup file on a memory stick or in a folder on my new PC
A normal Transactor 6 backup file would be named according to this pattern: "MMDDTTTT.zip" (eg. 04171430.zip which is a backup made April 17th at 1430hrs). You will only be able to select the correct type of file to use, so if your backup file isn't showing up you may be looking in the wrong location.
If you can't click "Next" check you have selected a valid location
In extreme cases, this can take a few hours if you have a lot of data.
I'd like to Download the full Transactor 6 Exporter Utility
Alternatively, to copy the utility from your Transactor Lab Manager 7 PC, on the Windows Start menu, run the icon "Transactor 6 EXPORT utility" from the folder All Apps (All Programs) > Transactor Lab Manager 7. This will open the folder containing the Export utility. Copy this file to a memory stick and then insert that memory stick in your Transactor 6 PC and run it from there.
The utility will guess the location of your Transactor 6 data folder but you can select an alternative location using the "Browse..." button at the end of the row.
If you can't click "Next" check you have selected a valid location
