Transactor 6 is on a different PC to your Lab Manager 7 PC

If you have Transactor 6 currently on a different PC to your Lab Manager (Transactor 7), and the Lab Manager 7 PC is not 64-bit

(Click here to determine if your Windows PC is 64-bit or 32-bit)

If you do not have Lab Manager installed on a 64-bit Windows PC (ie. it is 32-bit) you can easily import from any available standard Transactor 6 backup file, or download the full T6 export utility

I have a normal Transactor 6 backup file on a memory stick or in a folder on my new PC. Click here.

This is easy to do but if you had some special settings on your old system (like your own logos.. ) these won't be transferred automatically you'll need to contact support to copy those over for you later on.

I'd like to Download the full Transactor 6 Exporter Utility. Click here.

This is preferable as it will copy extra settings from your Transactor 6 that the normal backup file does not contain. However, there is some extra work involved.

I have a normal Transactor 6 backup file on a memory stick or in a folder on my new PC

On your Windows Start menu, run the program "Transactor 6 to 7 IMPORT" from the folder All Apps (or All Programs) > Transactor Lab Manager 7.
Click on the row labeled "Import from a Transactor 6 backup file".
Click the "Browse..." button at the end of the row and choose the backup file you wish to import from and click OK

A normal Transactor 6 backup file would be named according to this pattern:   "MMDDTTTT.zip"  (eg. 04171430.zip  which is a backup made April 17th at 1430hrs). You will only be able to select the correct type of file to use, so if your backup file isn't showing up you may be looking in the wrong location.

Click "Next >".

If you can't click "Next" check you have selected a valid location

Click the "Start" button to begin the import process.

In extreme cases, this can take a few hours if you have a lot of data.

I'd like to Download the full Transactor 6 Exporter Utility

Download the utility direct on your Transactor 6 PC, visit http://transactorsystems.com/download/ and click the "T6 Exporter utility" link at the bottom of the page.

Alternatively, to copy the utility from your Transactor Lab Manager 7 PC, on the Windows Start menu, run the icon "Transactor 6 EXPORT utility" from the folder All Apps (All Programs) > Transactor Lab Manager 7. This will open the folder containing the Export utility. Copy this file to a memory stick and then insert that memory stick in your Transactor 6 PC and run it from there.

Once run on your Transactor 6 PC, you will have an icon on your desktop named "Transactor 6 Exporter" - run this.
Click on the row labeled "Export from Transactor 6 on this computer".

The utility will guess the location of your Transactor 6 data folder but you can select an alternative location using the "Browse..." button at the end of the row.

Click on the "Next >" button
You now need to choose where you want the exported data to be placed. A good location is probably the memory stick you already have inserted into the PC, so click on the "Browse..." button and choose your memory stick and click OK then click "Next >".

If you can't click "Next" check you have selected a valid location

Click the "Start" button to begin the Export process. This can take a few minutes.
Once completed, remove the memory stick from the Transactor 6 computer and insert it into the Lab Manager 7 PC.
On your Windows Start menu, run the program "Transactor 6 to 7 IMPORT" from the folder All Apps (All Programs) > Transactor Lab Manager 7.
Click on the row labelled "I have exported Transactor 6 data on a memory stick".
Click the "Browse..." button at the end of the row and locate your memory stick. Select the file "T6-CSVs.zip" on the memory stick and click OK then click "Next >".

If you can't click "Next" check you have selected a valid location

Click the "Start" button to begin the import process.

In extreme cases, this can take several hours if you have a lot of data.
