Transactor 6 is on a different PC to Transactor 8

Instructions below are for Pro1 only. (ie. you use Transactor on one computer)

These instructions can only be followed if your Transactor V8 PC is not 64-bit.

If your Transactor V8 PC is 64-bit then follow these instructions instead.

(Click here to determine if your Windows PC is 64-bit or 32-bit)

If you have Transactor V8 installed on 32-bit Windows then you can easily import from any available Transactor 6 backup file.

1.On your Windows Start Menu, run the program "Transactor 6 IMPORT" from the Transactor folder.
2.Click on the row labelled "Import from a Transactor 6 backup file".
3.Click the "Browse..." button at the end of the row and choose the backup file you wish to import from and click OK

A normal Transactor 6 backup file would be named according to this pattern:   "MMDDTTTT.zip"  (eg. 04171430.zip  which is a backup made April 17th at 1430hrs). You will only be able to select the correct type of file to use, so if your backup file isn't showing up you may be looking in the wrong location.

4.Click "Next >".

If you can't click "Next" check you have selected a valid location

5.Click the "Start" button to begin the import process.

In extreme cases, this can take a few hours if you have a lot of data.

IMPORTANT

Note that after importing, you can log in with the same username and password that you used in the previous version.
As previous versions did not use case-sensitive passwords, but V8 does, try logging in with your old password using ALL CAPITALS
If you did not use a password previously, this will now have been set to   abc123
You can change your password once you've logged in, by using Tools menu > My Preferences
