How to get here

 

Tools menu > Control Centre > Advanced > Customer Types, then select a customer type and click the EDIT icon

 


 

Every customer uses a single customer type. Usually this will be Dentist, Practice etc. but new customer types can be created.

 

Refer to the details below to help in completing the fields on this screen:

 

 

Name - The descriptive name of this customer type, such as Dentist, Principal Account, Practice

 

Customer Name entered as Company Name - Select this box if the customer's name will be a company name and won't need to be split into Title, Firstname, Surname, eg. "MyDent Dental Practice"

 

Customer Name entered as Person Name - Select this box if the customer will be a person so their name will be split into Title, Firstname, Surname, eg. "Mr Bob Jones"



Initial Defaults 


Price Band - The default price band for customers of this customer type. You can still change a customer's default price band when they belong to this customer type, but this setting will be used as the price band when you first create a customer

 

Early Payment Disc rate% - The default Early Payment Discount Rate (%). You can still change a customer's default Early Payment Discount % when they belong to this customer type, but this setting will be used as the rate when you first create a customer

 

Payment Terms (days) - The default Payment Terms (days). You can still change a customer's default Payment Terms when they belong to this customer type, but this setting will be used as the terms when you first create a customer

 

Early Payment disc days - The default number of days in which the customer needs to pay to obtain an Early Payment Discount. You can still change a customer's default Early Payment Discount Days when they belong to this customer type, but this setting will be used as the Days amount when you first create a customer

 



Change Icon - Click the square at the top right of this form to choose an icon for this customer type, which you can use as a quick visual reference when working with customers

 

Flags - Enter a flag code in this box to tell LabManager to treat this customer type as if it is a dentist or practice, for the purposes of selection lists or month-end reports. Use the following codes:

S - This customer behaves as a dentist (surgeon)

P - This customer behaves as a practice

SP - This customer behaves as both a dentist and a practice

 

Active - Tick this box to make this customer type available for use within LabManager. Untick to prevent new customers being created with this customer type. Customers that already exist with this customer type will remain in the database and you will need to change their customer type manually if you want to.
